I have way too many alts that I keep to myself (which is why I generally refrain from posting them), but I'm going to ignore that habit for a moment just because I'm feeling particularly insane about this guy.

I'm gonna be honest I've been mulling over the cut dialogue post for the entire day because what I want to know is the direction of the developers.

Part of me isn't sure whether if the cut dialogue was cut content for the sake of cut content (i.e. time/budget limitations, it was too much/unnecessary for the scene, etc) or whether it was a change in tweaking Volo's canon character. (i.e. making his villainy closer/a foil of Cyrus.) (for the most I'm still not sure if the cut dialogue is considered "canon" or not, but for the most part until we see official content that contradicts it I will consider it as "canon" Volo.)

Because I don't know about you, but it's really telling something about his character.

I'm a descendant of the ancient Sinnoh people! I revere Arceus, the almighty god, and I will demonstrate his power to all living things in the sky, the earth, the sea! Yes! As the avatar of Arceus, I will house that power and bring its gospel to Hisui! I won't let you, an outsider with no history here, get in my way!

Okay so, this passage is the part I want to delve into. A couple of points:

"Avatar of Arceus" - this pretty much explains the Arceus cosplay in the final battle. I mean it was assumed already if you know how iconography and symbolism works, but it pretty much plainly explains that Volo sees himself as a god or in the very least, as a standing representation of Arceus itself in the physical world.

"I will house that power" - again this is just a rewording of what already exists in the final scene, where Volo states he wants to "use Arceus' power to create a new better world". Note he doesn't say he will defeat Arceus, or kill it. I know it's common interpretation in fan circles that Volo kills/takes Arceus power, but it's important for us to remember that canonically, Volo DOES NOT want to kill Arceus. His reverence may be strong, and he does have this weird religious ecstasy brainrot, but he does not wish to actually kill it. Volo is a religious zealot.

And the parts that are bothering me the most are these lines:

"I will demonstrate his power to all living things in the sky, the earth, the sea! / ...bring its gospel to Hisui!" - this part is what I'm ruminating on the most. Because with this passage, it's making me rethink all of my previous interpretations on Volo, and I fear we may have been misinterpreting him this entire time.

This is again where I want to emphasize I don't know for sure if this is a character rework or cut content, because here Volo makes no mention of a "better world" by using the power of Arceus.

Because yknow what that sounds like right? Like Christian/Catholic preaching. Specifically the word "gospel" is used here, and he makes mention of "demonstrating his power to all living things". Like spreading the word of God? He makes no mention of this gospel of Arceus being love or light however, which makes me worried what this implies...

And this is what's bothering the most about this. Volo from this dialogue, may not be a saviour wishing to create a better world without suffering because his God designed a flawed world that included those things.

Volo is a religious zealot that believes the world is flawed because of other people, not because his God made a flawed creation. And that the cure to removing this suffering is recreating his own biblical flood and killing everyone and spreading the word of Jesus Arceus.

That's why Volo has a hard time trusting others in Pokemas because other people are sinful/backstabbing and cannot be trusted (albeit heavily influenced by whatever Traumatic Thing™ happened in his villain backstory that as of writing this, has yet to be revealed) but if this is canon to his character, it's a HUGE difference from what we were all interpreting. He's not staging a divine coup for the people, he's your Catholic pastor that believes if you don't believe in god you're going to hell. He's the holy crusader that is willing to hurt entire groups of people in the name of god, believing this harm he's doing is "righteous" because he's doing it for Arceus.

If this is what Volo's idea of a "better world" was like the entire time, damn I really hope he loses and gets a redemption. A world where everyone follows the gospel of God through force? Maybe there's a reason he's a villain.

hes possessive alright. simon most likey has never had or felt real feelings for another person other than his familiarity with 141 and that wouldn’t attempt to change unless he’d met someone who is able to sneak into the gigantic walls he put up for himself. that being said if you were to step into his life by chance and also happen to fit his personality enough for his walls to shift.. lets just say you’d be on his hook for life. simon takes pride in knowing he has finally has someone to go home to (like a real military man he thinks), he takes pride in knowing he can count on someone, he takes care of the ones he “loves”. you caring for him back is just bonus points in his fucked up book. sum of it ghost is pretty possessive, although hes not the one to kill or be extreme with his measures for you ( he will break a bone or two ), he will always make sure to put himself first and while that’s selfish hes been through more than enough to know that love never sticks and his trauma filled heart wont let him stay too long—but if he thinks that you are a need in his life,, then you are his to keep. hell asking if ghost shares could get you killed. while ghost is not the one to kill for you—he will kill for himself. you are now a necessity in ghosts life; in simons life. you’re in his routine and he doesn’t make room in his routine for just anybody, simon sees you as a part of his own as he now needs you for certain tasks. killing for himself is way easier and will happen if anyone even suggests sharing you to him.

CAPTAIN. JOHN PRICE

john is one hell of a lover, thats for sure. he takes his love life seriously; wants to date to marry type serious. its sure by his age he’s already been divorced or has been married and thats not something he takes lightly. hes all for one night stands but if your going to get him all cheesed up just expect to take him out to dinner the next day. if the “date” goes well and you both start with something thats sort of a talking stage, its clear he wants something as he doesn’t let his guard down for just anybody. like simon he puts his work first, task force 141 coming before his own soul. hes a workaholic of course and would need someone who he could talk to about his paperwork; a person he could complain to for hours about how soap works on his nerves. if you meet his standards you might as well be his even if you dont know it; he’s just as possessive as it gets. you’re civilian? hes treating you like one of his soldiers because he’s possessive over all of his men, price will kill for you knowing the danger he attracts. you’re military? hes backing you up if you need the extra assistance and will not hesitate to drop a body for you. cause thats how he loves; its all he knows. sharing is a hard no for price, he finds it awkward to share with anyone and if you want someone else.. lets just say he’d rather leave you than see you be with another person while with him, again he will not share under no circumstance. he needs you and you only and if you cant except that then “best get to goin’. ” in his words.

JOHNNY “SOAP” MACTAVISH

soap doesnt love as hard as john or have walls as high as ghost, he has his own sense of self coordination. soap wants someone whose rough enough but can handle his jokes. someone who can love him for who he his, for all his scars, for his wellbeing. I imagine johnny growing up being chastised for his sexuality. meeting you would solidify something in him as you would accept him and he would never forget that heavenly trait of yours. hes fallen for you already and theres not much more to do before he wants a ring from you. I know I said he doesnt love as hard as john but soap can come to love just as hard and willingly as he wants to; all he needs is a push. soaps clingy nature is active once hes feeling comfortable around you, wants to be by you most of the time especially including when he has to do stacks of deskwork. soap is one of the only ones who is willing to share, thinks its your choice compared to his. no matter what you do hes by your side; though, killing for you is his last resort. with johnny killing will not always be his first option especially since being discharged from the military he feels as though is a disgrace, he would only kill immediately if you were part of the military too and were harmed in combat. hes protective but not as possessive as the others.

KYLE "GAZ" GARRICK

kyle has relationship problems, falls for the wrong types of people. lets his guard down a bit too much than the others. makes him different in his heart; but too soft for the bunch. he crushes on people who give him even the tiniest bit of affection, must be because hes only dated around a few times. so guess its not absurd for the situation that was between you two. It was weird for a bit; weird cant even be the word. you and kyle were bestfriends and kyle had liked you. it was awkward to say the least but he confessed and for the first time in a while someone had said yes to his confession. it already sparked so many feelings that you could probably have had him right there. while gaz has relationship problems its safe to say hes just as possessive as the others, once hes got a hold of you its a while before he lets go. hes clingy like soap and loves hard like price. he’s different because he will kill for you if needed, whether you be civilian or military personnel no matter what’s happening kyle loves too much to let the person he cares about go. he shares because, again, its your choice and hes into whatever your into. though his tolerance is low; hes only sharing because its what you want. he would never willingly share if you didn’t want to and would never ask you if you wanted relations with another person.

COM. PHILLIP GRAVES

phillip is a one night stand typa guy, only there to fuck and leave. wouldn’t want a serious relationship and surely wouldn’t want someone to love. so he slept around ,, his job as commander was stressful, its no doubt he needed a stress reliever every minute he could get; one night stands provided that and he was fine with it, fine with the circumstances. ironically that is until he met you.. you were “different” he said. you pushed his buttons in all the right ways; made him want more of you. made him feel weird inside. said he couldn’t feel love onetime and you almost made him regret it. phillip loves rough though its soft around the edges.. he wants that same type of love reciprocated right back to him, its alright if you cant be soft to him he’ll still take it like the goodboy he is. wants someone who will treat him horribly but at the end of the day love him harder than ever, not ideal but its what he wants, and he gets what he wants. never been one to quit either, will continue to try and get you even if you said no to his advances the first time. safe to say he wont be sharing either, he has major problems with sharing when it comes to complete strangers. might share you with his shadows though; other times he wants you all to himself because he knows hes all you need. all your body needs atleast. your opinion is honestly irrelevant to him too. (he will drop anyone dead within a 5 feet radius of you.)

COM. VLADIMIR MAKAROV

vladimir, the one who is the toughest to break and even tougher to love. this is because unless you have a sign on your forehead that says “hey pick me”, makarov is not batting an eye for a civilian. under no circumstances will he let his emotions with a mere under role come in hand with his work. so in every scenario your in some type of military work or even under him in command, cause then he might peak an eyelash towards your files and find out who you are. if prior to meeting eachother you idolize his work—you’ve already climbed towers that would take years to reach. makarov wants someone whose loyal, someone whose willing to put him first (he wants a dog whose willing to take their life for him). and while many of his soldiers already happen to do that everyday for him, you stick out like a sore thumb so bad that it just so happens to confuse him. he questions whats so damn interesting about you and even comes to reason that its him being weak minded and ill thoughted. a leader does not think such thoughts about someone of your sexuality; sure as hell not a person whose so proud of it. later he comes to realize his thoughts were wrong. after a hookup between the two of you during a stressful day, he sees more of whats to come. of course still he doesn’t support but he can get behind it just for you. makarov is VERY possessive, he would kill cities for you; countries even. would carve his name on your body so that everyone knows your his, make you get a tattoo atleast. (gets you guns with his name engraved into them, loves when you try to use them against him during sex; he has a major gun kink / knife kink and loves inflicting pain on you to the point where you’re bleeding.) he for sure does not share. hes one of the ones thats obsessive over what you do enough to keep you locked up too, once your marked as his you stay his. he does not take well to his property being used by others and does not condone what you feel for that matter. if you disagree or betray his decisions,, no matter how much hes come to accept you, he can and will not hesitate to shoot you dead along with anyone whose ever tried to come in contact with you. he does not share.

Despite all his antics (or maybe because of them), he really feels that he’s made a genuine connection with you

He won’t say it but he’s really glad that you put up with him and you don’t see him as some one-dimensional jerk you do see him as a multidimensional jerk though /joke

So when he gets a call from your number yet an unfamiliar voice greets him, he immediately grows worried, and for good reason - turns out you’ve ended up in the hospital due to some unknown accident

He drops everything he’s doing and rushes to the hospital without thinking twice. Like, literally rush there. He spares no time to call for transport

…Or ask for details from anyone for that matter. If it weren’t for the staff, he would’ve tried barging into any random ward to find you

When he gets to you, panting and panicked, he goes to steady himself, his hands gripping the sides of the hospital bed so tightly

You’re glad to see his face and he’s glad to see that you still manage to muster up a smile at his presence

That’s when he notices that nobody else is there, and so he asks you where everybody else is. You tell him they only called up your emergency contact which is none other than Ace himself

He asks you why is he your emergency contact out of everyone-

“It’s because I trust you the most, you idiot. I bet you ran all the way here the moment you got that phone call.”

You let out a knowing laugh and Ace pouts as a response, totally not trying to hide the tears that pricked the corner of his eyes

You’re not sure who’s supposed to do the comforting at that moment, considering you were involved in an accident and Ace is on the verge of tears - so you both don’t bother trying. The following conversation carries on as normal

Despite all his antics, you really feel like your faith in him is not misplaced.

Deuce Spade

You’ve always admired Deuce’s strength to change - and he’s always admired your loyalty

Sometimes he’d feel guilty for having you endure having him as a friend and you always have to shut him up by assuring him that there’s really nothing to endure

Even when you have to endure an almost life-ending accident, you can’t help but think of him first and foremost

His grip on the phone alternates between on the verge of breaking and so loose it’s a miracle he hasn’t dropped it yet when he gets the news

Someone goes to fetch him from the hospital and he cries on the way, not giving any room for the person to speak with him

He tries to put on a brave face when he walks through the halls in search of you but when he reaches you, he can’t resist the yell he lets out

“YUU! YOU’RE ALIVE!”

You end up having to calm him down a bit lest you two become the victims of a few dozen glares in that hospital

When he’s down to only sniffing, you tell him why he’s the first person you called

He almost broke down into tears again because of it

He’d hug you or hold your hand if your condition allows it and give you a teary smile that you of course reciprocate

You fill him in on what happened and he’ll listen intently, then offer to be by your side as long as you need him to

He’s always admired your strength - and you’ve always admired his loyalty.

Jack Howl

You always found his stubbornness amusing and honestly, he’s a bit confused as to why you stick by him all this time

Not really in a self-deprecating way - he’s always been more of a lone wolf. Only when he came to Night Raven College does he feel like he’s part of a pack now

And since you���re a part of that pack, he has a strong need to protect you, no matter the cost; so you can imagine his reaction when he got a call about you ending up in the hospital after an accident

The first thing he feels is anger; not at anything in particular yet at everything simultaneously. It’s called an accident for a reason yet why did the universe allow such a thing to happen to you?

He tries to calm himself down on the way to the hospital but it’s nothing short of difficult, even with the help of someone else

When he finally finds you, he finally lets out a breath he wasn’t even aware he was holding

You muster a smile up at him and it takes his all not to let tears break through the surface

“...I was really worried.”

You chuckle - in situations like this, his absent stubbornness really makes a difference, but you appreciate his honesty

He didn’t think twice of the fact that he was the first one you called but you tell him why anyway. A cute little smile adorns his features then

He says he’s honored that his feelings are mutual then swears to you he’ll try harder to protect you, even if it means switching places with you

You brush him off, saying you’d do the same. The conversation goes back and forth for a while after that

He’s always found your insistence endearing and frankly, he wouldn’t have you any other way.

Epel Felmier

A bit similar to Jack, only when coming to Night Raven College does he get to mingle with kids of his age due to his hometown

And one of those kids is none other than you! You two have grown so close and made some unforgettable memories together

Unfortunately though, one of those unforgettable memories includes the news of your accident. Not just for him - some may remember the scream he let out at the news

He begged Vil to let him borrow the blastcycle the Film Research Club has and Vil only nodded solemnly; nobody needs to see him cry on the way to you

He speeds through everything and anything possible; he doesn’t care whatever consequences he has to face after all this is over

When he reaches the hospital, he allows the staff to guide him to where you are as he catches his breath

He chokes out a gasp at the sight of you and calls out to you

“Y-Yuu… I’m so glad you’re alright…”

He sits on the stool provided by the hospital and his head droops low. He’s silent

You give him a moment to process everything. It’s a lot to take in. Even you didn’t think it could come to this

Five minutes pass. You sigh and tell him why he’s the first you reached out to. He mirrors your sigh and a small smile creeps onto his face

He’s grateful that he means so much to you; grateful that he can mean so much to someone. Despite himself, his heart swells with pride

Even when you are inches away from death, he feels like every memory can be a happy one as long as you’re in it.

Sebek Zigvolt

He sees you as an equal - and that’s saying something

He won’t admit it out loud but he feels less lonely for once, seeing that someone understands or at least respects him as much as you do

For once, he feels he can disconnect from his Malleus worship for a while and not feel like he’s betraying his trust

But when he hears news of you ending up in the hospital, he definitely feels a sharp pang of guilt pierce his chest; he’s betrayed your trust

He excuses himself from Malleus and apologizes profusely for willingly leaving his side for someone else, but he simply can’t abandon you

Malleus lets him go of course, even offers to tag along, but Sebek assures that Malleus is needed more where he is

His head rested in his hands while he laments in his transport, breathing heavily

It takes his all not to shout your name in search of your ward when he reaches the hospital; but he can no longer hold it back when his eyes land on you

“YUU…! YOU’RE… You have no idea…”

You wave to him as he runs to your side, tears at the corner of his eyes

You rub his back as he quietly sobs for a minute, even feeling like sobbing yourself at some point; this man holds so much love for you

You tell him why you summoned only him for now - the tears continue to stream but now he smiles and puts a hand to his head

How silly of him. Of course. How could he make such assumptions about your relationship? He could never betray you. Every moment only strengthens your trust in each other.

It's that one time, that one time he walk around amidst of the night trying to find an open store to buy fireworks for Takiishi. He stop in his trance, gaze swept away by a solitary store stood out among the dimly light streets. His feet brought him almost leisurely to the front door and that's when he saw you, working through the racks to fill up stocks.

When he pushes the door open, the automatic bell chime and you turn around "Welcome..." The corner of his eyes crease as he smile at you "Hey, do you guys have any fireworks in 'ere?" Yeah, it's not everyday a weird looking guy with weird tattoos litter across his body come in the middle of the night asking for fireworks "Yeah, sure..." He follows you to the farthest corner of the store where you kept them "Is there anything else?" The man turn to you, shaking his head "That'll be all,"

You rushes back to the counter, patiently waiting for him to come back and pay "Y/n..." Your eyes widen, and as you look up, you're surprised to see him leaning down to your face very closely. His eyes concentrated on your tag. You ring every bit of his items as quickly as you could "That'll be 507¥." He huff, taking the bag from you and leave.

You really thought it'll be the last time you see him...

But no, the weird man keep coming back, not to buy fireworks or anything, just to loiter around and pester you with your works and because it's in the middle of the night, there's barely any customers in the store which leave you not to only listen to his constant yapping but to reluctantly accompany him as well "Don't you have anything else to do?" He point at the cup of noodle he site on the table "Besides eating?" You groaned, shaking your head "No. Besides bothering me." He snickers, taking a noisy slurp of his noodle "I do. Following Takiishi around."

You look at him, confused but you dismissed the thought straight away "Whatever, I'm going back to work, if you're finish eating, leave." He pout, putting down the utensils he's using "You're mean. I'm a customer, y'know?" You sway your head at him "You make me pay for you everytime, you fool." He breaks into a fit of laughter, watching you mad is so hilarious.

The next night, he strides to the familiar route of your shop, face bruised and nose trickled with stained blood. The prior incident flashes in his mind once again.

He was with Takiishi like usual, tailing behind the poker-faced male wherever he go without question. The duo browse a town with its street swarming with delinquents and thugs. Endo didn't mind and he's sure as hell Takiishi didn't mind it either but when one of the men purposefully pick a fight with Takiishi, Endo decided to step up for him instead and he got a harsh blow from Takiishi "Don't intervene." Another blow, his face spotted with sheepish smile and blood smearing out every cuts as Takiishi continue to beat the tattooed male.

"Why am I going to her, anyway?" He didn't understand why his feet brought him to you. He knew what you're like, indiffirent and without a doubt, he can guarantee you couldn't care less about the bruises on his face, so why is he here? In front of your work place, damaged face grinning without a thought. He opens the door, greeting you with that same crazed smile.

"Welcome...!" Your eyes widen upon seeing the state he's in "What the fuck happened to you?" He chortle, bringing one hand to touch a singular cut on his face which causes him to wince terribly "... That hurts." He couldn't properly registered what was happening until you pull him to a nearby table and sat him down "Of course, it hurts, you prick. You leave the wounds untended!" He watch you move around the store, going to the back room and came back with a first aid kit "You're so careless..." You sighed, lift the lid of the box and start tending him.

A deep gash across his cheek, several cuts and scratches covering his forehead and temple, nose trickled in crimson and eyes almost swollen "Just what the hell did you get yourself into..." You graze alcoholic pad across the wound to clean it, damping ointment gently over the cuts and scratches and finally, you put one last bandaid below his eye, on the apple of his cheek "All done."

Your eyes flutter forward to him, only then did you realized just how close you both are. Your eyes expanded and you almost fall back in shock but he caught you, rolling into laughter "Why are you red?" There's that, that hint of mockery lacing in his undertone "Shut up, asshole. You didn't even thank me for stitching you up." You look away from him, well, he wanted to tease you some more by how red and incredibly cute you look at this moment but uncharacteristically, he stayed quiet.

"Thanks," You look up, awkwardly coughed out fake coughs "D-Don't mention it, just buy me something next time." You pick up the first aid kit and leave back to the cashier.

He leave the store, heart pounding within its cage, he can feel himself shuddering to the bone at the slightest remembrance of you. Yes, he likes you, he think he wants to make you his, he think you are so perfect... Don't tell Takiishi but, now, you're his number one.

And yes, he indeed still is a bad judge of character.

i hate toby fox. why did he do this to us. he really put it better than anyone else. not really romantic not really platonic but…. something else… some secret more sinister more heartfelt more absurd third thing

i wonder at what point should i clarify that i dont even really seek out kriselle in a romantic context… DONT GET ME WRONG i have zero issues with the ship whatsoever and all of the krisellers out there are living their best (most painful) lives and i SEE THE APPEAL. BUT when i rotate them in my brain i dont need them to kiss or anything like that i just need them to sit down and sadly hold hands and stay like that forever and ever. in case you couldnt gauge that from my art so far

tldr i dont think i ship them in the traditional sense at least …. the things that i usually fixate on for any romantic ship are not there with these two. there are no romantic feelings there In my mind. and all at the same time i start screaming and throwing up and killing myself (all positive) whenever i see them even in the same image together. hngh

ive tried explaining this to people before and they usually suggest something along the lines of a QPR and even that doesnt feel right to me. truly the best way i can put it is… that red string of fate man… which i almost hesitate on saying too because i dont actually know if noelle is Quite an important enough character to the story to warrant a connection like that. WHICH IS A CRAZY THING TO SAY. I KNOW. DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT GETTING ME WRONG i think dess and her connections to gaster and her usage as a stepping stone into the weird route are all VERY important… but in my brain its just not kris/knight/asriel/every other mysterious main focus of the story Important. i didnt mean to get into deltarune theorizing here i hope nobody’s blood is boiling rn

so yeah in the end. toby fox once again put it best. they are friends, but they are also something else.

back to the actual pairing though… sometimes i think im going overboard and overestimating how close kris and noelle were as children because noelle will go and say things like “i wonder if we were ever really friends at all.” which is kind of a fair statement considering the circumstances. sure they played together and all and tagged along with their siblings to do stuff together but when dess went missing… it all kind of stopped. kris is just a kid, they dont know what to do or even how to process it, much like noelle. asriel is probably dealing with his own feelings, he just lost his friend and likely old enough to understand the weight of what happened. while noelle and kris cant say much to each other at all.

im always back and forth on speaking headcanons for kris but the one that i always seem to come back to is selective mutism… to me kris had a lot of trouble communicating well as a child and could only grow comfortable around certain people, asriel and noelle being clear examples because they’re both so patient with them. maybe because of this noelle felt like they could understand each other without really needing words, and just physical interaction was enough to achieve some form of closeness… or maybe that was all just on her end, she thinks when kris goes to play the piano. but if that’s the case, why does it feel like a concert just for her…?

jesus dont even get me start on them as teenagers either. noelle has lost her sister, and now kris has lost their brother… but not in the same way. they look at each other and wonder if they’re the same now. or, maybe thats too cruel. maybe its not the same thing at all. asriel’s coming back soon, after all. it will all be over soon, kris won’t have to feel this way for much longer, right? so then, why does kris look so miserable, sitting in the corner over there? all noelle feels like she can do is sit next to them quietly. to be there, and to somehow, vaguely, messily help each other. the misfit kids that dont really know how to talk to each other and yet understand each other regardless

thats why the dark world feels like such a dream to her. these crazy city lights, fantastical creatures, susie’s there, and she actually might have the means to defend herself and stand her ground, whether it be verbally or… otherwise

and most of all, much like with kris offering an adventurous haven to susie in ch1, the same is extended to noelle. by kris’s side, no less. it feels like theyre doing things together again, and its fun, and nostalgic… she wants to bring dess. and i think its okay to assume kris wants to bring asriel, too. recreating the make-believe world they lost so long ago… is it really possible?

no… how can it really be possible, when this isnt kris? something is wrong. its almost perfect, except kris… it’s them, but it’s not. she sees their face, their expressions, their laughs, their worries. and yet the voice that comes from them… isnt them. and it scares her! even if nothing particularly bad happened as a result. and if something bad DID happen, well…

she just wants what they had before back. is it really so impossible? can they reconcile after all these years? does kris want to? is kris capable of doing so? maybe they just need to hug again. will it feel like a real hug? the person she thought she understood is acting in ways she doesnt understand. they’re telling her to do weird things. they cycle through actions as if they just want to know what happens. and they cant even play piano anymore.

Anyway I'm getting pretty annoyed at people who acf like Clint being HoH is "obscure" maybe at one point it was but not anymore and I'm pretty sure if you asked most superhero fans (or even non sh fans) if they knew hawkeye was deaf they probably would have at least heard about it

Also I'd say it's pretty clear some modern comics are trying to establish it's as a consistent Canon character trait

I appreciate you reaching out and saying this. As someone who is Hoh it’s sort of wild to have fellow comic fans not only advocate but argue for my sort of disability to just essentially be erased again from a character because they don’t think it’s a common enough trait. Which it would have been more common and probably portrayed more accurately if more people weren’t so okay with not seeing it. If less folks thought like the person arguing against Clint being portrayed as deaf maybe we would have seen more of it sooner. Maybe it wouldn’t have had to be re-established. I just don’t want Clint to lose this aspect of his character again. So many of us value seeing it in the comics and shows. It’s really important.

Whatever it be it’s certainly not obscure. My Life As A Weapon is one of the most popular comics out there. It was released over a decade ago and since then he has been canonically deaf. Many people now a days start their comic journey with that comic specifically. So to see it claimed as obscure and unknown felt really silly to me.

I mean… It’s referenced even in comics that aren’t his. I know folks who don’t even read comics but participate in fandom culture (ie art and writing) that know he is deaf. It takes like five seconds in the Hawkeye tag on tumblr to know. Maybe a minute on Twitter or TikTok to put it together.

I don’t think that person arguing with me really was as involved with comics as they might have been implying they were because if they were they would know it’s not an unknown super secret fact that only the most hard Hawkeye fans would know. It’s ultimately why I stopped trying to prove this aspect to them. They just wanted to be right they dont actually care about the character or advocating for disabled representation.

Anyways enough of my rant…. I’m glad that there are fans like yourself though that agree and want to continue to see it represented. So thank you anon you also seem super cool 🫶

hello, there! sorry for the long wait, i forgot to check my notifs :( i will do better next time. thank you for this question! i feel like i’ve waited ages for someone to ask me exactly that, lol. i could talk about well-written fanfics forever!! can i give you a hug? because this is wonderful, really.

let’s go for it! my range of fanfiction that i enjoy vary, but one thing remains: i will adore your fic, no matter the fandom, if it’s written with passion and if it contains good, poetic introspection. i love poetry. for me, if there’s melancholic tropes of any kind i’m into it. immortal character and reincarnation? give me now. supernatural elements or slice of life with doomed narrative? i’ll ignore sleep to read it. angst with happy ending? my endgame, for sure.

however, i also adore silly, comedic, cute pieces of domestic life or otherwise. i had a hard time choosing from my bookmarks for this, and i also reviewed some of my favorites, it was fun. before we continue, here are some of the tags that i don’t dive into for whatever reason: porn without plot (it personally just doesn’t interest me at all), non-con, gore, a/b/o dynamics, soulmates au. sorry if you were hoping for it! i’ll try classify them into an order of what i like most.

1. jellyfish, by mystery twin, for the haikyuu!! fandom — i read this when i was finishing high school and coincidentally the story talks about finishing high school! i have a personal attachment that makes me reread it every year. it’s some sort of tradition at this point. not to mention i love kagehina dearly.

2. teen project to change the world, by animeloverhomura, for the mo dao zu shi fandom — respectfully speaking, i would find this author and give them a big hug. their writing is spetacular! if you've never seen this one and you're into mdzs, know it's a story where the characters get to see every event from the novel and donghua, even the dead characters. they watch wei wuxian journey, can you believe it? so goddamn entertaining. promptly waiting for the next update!

3. a hundred or so hellos, by iwillstillopenthewindow, for the haikyuu!! fandom — remember i said i love melancholic stories? well, this one broke me so hard, i had to mention how i hold it with tenderness (we love things that breaks us, dont we?). this fandom manages to write the cutest, most unhinged things sometimes. even it's an anime about sports. i always get amazed by it.

4. no certainty of doors between us, by betts, for the mo dao zu shi fandom — certainly the most silly little fanfic i've ever seen, it's hilariously sweet. i want everyone to read this masterpiece because, seriously, whoever did this deserves only the best. so, so, cute. it had to be in my top 10!

5. their kindred encounters, by fireflavoredwhiskey, for the untamed rpf fandom (bjyx) — you know those kinds of shows, books, any piece of media, that tears up apart? well, this one was it for me. it's a very famous one that deserves all praise, certainly well-written and enjoyable to the core, with doses of angst, romance and beauty overall.

6. as the clouds part and clear, we finally meet again, by 12262325, for the mo dao zu shi fandom — aaaaa, i was truly torn between putting this in the third or fourth place, but i ended up putting it here. come on, i love an age difference kind of story, especially for wangxian, and this one was perfectly done. sweet and funny. the development? the yearning?? outstanding!! i read this many times already, i'll never get tired.

7. pursuit, by emleewrites, for the haikyuu!! fandom — mystery, romance, lawsuits, poker games, adventure, slice of life, AMAZING depictions and so, so goddamn well-written? that's what you're looking for in any fanfiction. the author dedicated herself entirely for this story, and, like i said, i love stories that are written with passion, you can see it pouring through every paragraph. besides, highly entertaining. i'm not very into long fics, but once i started it off, i couldn't stop. that's how addicting it is.

8. linger by the door (i’ve always been yours), by piecrust, for the mo dao zu shi fandom — epistolary?? have i mentioned how i love it?? some of the phrases in this are gold, in my bookmarks you can check some of them (i ought to make a list of my favorite fic quotes, btw, i will sure do it). through each letter i could comprehend more of wei wuxian's feelings and his internal conflict. i love feeling this connected to a character.

9. all the world is ours to take, by khrys, for the fugou keiji fandom — i have more than one favorite fanfiction for this couple. you know these kinds of developing relationship where the transition from (maybe enemies too) friends to lovers happens so smoothly that it feels like they've been soulmates first and foremost at the end? i don't even know how to explain. i just love how, when they finally are together, it's like they've been together for years. and they just... made it official? i like it. i love my mr. kambe haru.

10. he won’t tell you that he loves you, by hellshandbasket, for the house m.d fandom — i found this to be the most fitting, perfect story for this specific couple. they deserved more stories like this, but we dont see it anymore. i would hightlight the feelings realization in this one, that is so fucking real? haha in any case, it's a fanfic that i enjoyed a great deal.

that's it, i guess! i wanted to add link click fanfics also, however i barely started reading fanfictions from its fandom, i'm drowning in it lately but it's just a start. perhaps very sooon!

oh, i’m gonna finish explaining about the name! in my native language, i’ve heard someone tell me before that ‘life’s a little askew, nothing’s ever perfect’, and that quote remained in every biography of any english website i ever went to. then in literature class someday i had to write about historical women and came across this one named anne askew (i wanted to write about the mostly barely-spoken women). it was the second time i saw this word. i didn’t think of it as a proper name before, but then i had to create a nickname for my ao3 profile and thought, humn, why not just ‘askew’? the quote has been engraved in my heart anyway, so i went for it. we’re all flawed and askew. so, yeah, it just… fit? the ‘d’ here on tumblr it’s only because my surname has a ‘de morais’ in it. i also liked that it resembled ‘alaska’, the john green character i was kinda of obsessed with back in my teenager grunge phase. i don’t like these kinds of books anymore, but i guess some details stay with you. do you think it’s weird? never thought of changing.

wanna know some puckpocketed deep lore? i've never been one to make OCs. i was just not a very creative kid tbh. spent all my time drawing sailor moon instead. i still go back to her sometimes because she is one of my favourite shapes in the WORLD!!

in my 20s i took up playing d&d because of the. uh. plague. <3 and got pretty close to having OCs!! those count right? anyway. here is my tavern-wench-turned-wizard!!! i think i painted this 2 years ago? <- put dates on your works guys it saves lives. her name is Mel (short for Melins (pronounced like melons. on account of her knockers. can you tell i never grew out of my 12 yr old booby/cock joke era?) i revisited Mel recently and have started painting her in earnest again!! :3

I briefly dated someone who was very into streetwear and fashion, and I fell down a techwear/gorpcore/cyberpunk rabbit hole for a couple days out of curiosity. i remember literally zero salient info on any of it except the broad strokes of silhouetting and Vibes. what i emerged with, however, was a ?? sorta OC?? im not sure what to call them. they dont rly have a name or gender. I did this little sheet ages ago + the aborted attempt at a portrait later:

Here are my most recent explorations (i have been doing SOOOO much art. <3) which include:

unfinished character sheet + chibi art. I played with their jacket (much more structured/square/tailored thing) and added a lotta random buckles and belts. i took textiles class years ago and have a little experience in garment construction. and i know for a fact this thing does not make any sense. it hurts me to look at a little bit LMAO so i've paused it while i go draft patterns (badly. i was never good at drafting. i think i may have to break out my scrap fabric stash and hand sew a real life mock-up. HELP!)

here is me having fun with them and imagining them as some kind of cyber-fisherman. the best part of every game is the fishing mini-game to me. i love fishing mini-games so much. I made their hair really big because i wanted them to have big unwieldy hair and the vibes told me i should add more movement to the piece aside from the fishing line. I messed with their jacket AGAIN because i can't stop thinking about what kinda jacket they'd wear. gorp-core ? idk. it sure is something!

back in my weeb era for real YAYYYY!!! up til now i'd been making hockey art using a zero pressure sensitivity pen brush because i simply did NOT want to deal with that. it is and has always been a barrier to me making art that uses line art. <3 easing my way back into it though!

I used to paint gifts for my friends and then get them printed into lil posters and mount them on nice backing :3 i am now ready and back to painting.

Here is my girlbestie's OC. just a rough pose sketch. i think im pretty unsatisfied with the gesture of the head/hand. i wanted to include her gun in some way. i fear i may have to rework the pose entirely <3

Yelan - this one i started many holidays ago and put on the backburner because the colouring was wigging me out. you can see where i started rendering stuff + got sidetracked and started on something else (the crystal choker IM LAUGHING @ past me...)

Ayaka - I reaaally like what i did here with the perspective + foreshortening. I don't know if the pose or expression is in-character or not, but i had fun :3 got stunlocked looking at references of genshin weapons so this is where i left off:

my advice: just do it

really! sometimes all you really need is a leap of faith, and that was exactly how I dropped into the cod fandom. When I joined the ghoap discord server I talked to one of the artist I really like and respected from my lurking time (hi @bressynonym) aaaand the rest is history

I didnt know how to draw properly, nor digitally, all I did was scribbling on OneNote (yeah!) and rambled about cod characters, it is daunting and it is scary to interact but after a while? you may just be able to find someone to brainrot together with

start small, like commenting, reblogging, talking, chatting- doesn't have to be towards artist/writers, it could be the art/fic enjoyers!

you need to put yourself out there if you want something

as to if you want to start in the fandom as a creator, here's some more tips (which are all based on my experience, I am no pro at doing this, hell Im still learning myself, and I am by no means speaking these on behalf on others!)

establish a goal: what are you making? fandom based? original creations?

as with starting new, everything may take a while for stuff to happen, you'll feel like you're speaking to the void at times (esp with original arts, but do know that your stuff do get perceive by others as time goes, I would advise to draw fandom stuff as a beginning to get that boost going if you want! or else it's going to be quite hard to get things rolling)

imo this is hardest part of any new creator, you'll have to bear with it and try not to give up (but I understand how incredibly demotivating it could get, there were times when I stopped posting about Raven entirely, but eventually I post it anyway cuz surely someone out there will like them, it just takes a lot of patiences and perseverance)

btw, engagement can also vary from time to time, you may be booming for a bit, then suddenly you dont, it is a cycle that will bound to happen

take rest regularly, and I mean a break from social media because numbers, discourse and everything can get to you, very quickly (I cannot emphasise this enough)

the numbers are not worth it over your mental health (comes with practice to really solidify this thought)

study the algorithm (pain): see what other creators are doing to get where they are, what tags are they using in their post? what features/niche do people like?(this is, if you really want to grab some form of engagement, bcuz reminder in the end you are creating art for yourself first!)

example: I think posts would get more reach if you tag it with the ship name first, followed by the characters' name (doesn't work all the time tho)

that's the thing about algorithm, it is ever-changing, and you'll have to learn to adapt with it when it does!

expanding on that, studying algorithm could be about ships (for example, ghostsoap is most popular in the fandom), or really good rendered art/flashed out fic that leaves your jaw on the floor, or ships that gets lesser attention in general which puts you, who make content about them, easier to be brought into the light (like Faralex)

bUT, it can also be personality!

(again, not saying this is meant for everyone and strictly from my own experience + what I observe) for me, I made up the lack of my art by establishing a personality: a wild panda who yaps about price and their oc and also kinda everywhere in the place (just like this post LOL), OR you're the person who named themselves after Soap's ash particle number OR you're the one who likes bottom Ghost- literally anything goes, you want to make an impression in different ways, some more funny/goofier than others but it works (be mindful and stay respectful tho, dont wanna be the asshole in the fandom now do ya?)

efforts ≠ engagement (not all the time, but most time) and this is a fact. Sometimes, you can't expect a piece you did for 10+ hours to get thousands views and likes, especially in a fandom space. You need to understand algorithm is that wonky. (very disheartening, but again, you make the art for you and the few others who genuinely likes them, and those people can go a long way) be mentally prepared for such events, and try not to beat yourself up too much for it

lmaooo sure anon, i really was going to keep this under wraps until i wrote it all out (fingers crossed it gets done!!) but since you asked, and since i’ve come to find that talking about the au really does help with plotting out certain things in the fic (and deleting others in favor of new ideas that work better) i’ll put some of Kalim’s situation under the read more!

okay, so first i want you to know this was a very long very detailed explanation, that took me around an hour to get right, only for my phone to bug out and delete everything i had put down. it was entirely frustrating and i don’t know if i can sit down and type out the whole thing again, so this will be a shorter version, i’m sorry 😭

but basically, what’s up with Kalim here, and what works against jamil in the “kalim is too good for jamil” and “jamil is using kalim” rumors and biases is that Kalim’s relationship with Jamil does have consequences.

Kalim’s position as heir for one, is shaky. He’s still heir, but his relationship with Jamil is absolutely being used as fodder by his siblings and their mothers in their bid for the position as Al Asim heir, and in their attempts to undermine Kalim’s favor by his father.

A result of this is Kalim’s funds being limited. he’s not cut off, but as a test or punishment (haven’t really figured that part out yet), his access has been temporarily restricted at the time of his framing.

Okay. so i’ve mentioned in another post that im having KaliJami have some time apart after their graduation at NRC. Now, where does that place them in this fic timeline wise? i’m thinking mid-twenties. Jamil graduates and then spends a few years traveling (and, as the fabulous @mari-oaky says in the tags of this post (not mine!!!) they have the hc that “jamil spends his time away from Kalim forming a series of destructive relationships that keep blowing up in his face. he gets disappointed every time because to his surprise no one can bounce back as well as Kalim.”)

and yeah. that’s the vibe!! because i’ve mentioned in another post i think, that one thing Jamil is grappling with, (or rather, was grappling with, because at the point of this fic’s start he and kalim are in an established relationship and so he has come to terms with it) is his feelings regarding Kalim. because when Jamil goes and travels the world, he finds he misses Kalim. and he doesn’t know if that’s because of his life and childhood being spent at Kalim’s side as his servant, or if that’s all genuine Jamil.

but you asked about Kalim so. Kalim is the one who is aware of his feelings for Jamil at the time of their graduation. He’s actually been aware of it for a long time (whereas Jamil has repressed those feelings and is unaware while still acting in a way that ensures his and Kalim’s closeness) and so, Kalim knows he wants Jamil and that he will miss Jamil. He knows he is attached, and he is right about all of that. BUT. there is one thing Kalim was wrong about.

At the time of their graduation, and Jamil’s trip round the world, Jamil leaves with an “i don’t know when i’ll be back” type of statement. but kalim FULLY believes there’s no “when” about it. he is so sure that he’s never going to see Jamil again. that jamil will not come back. (come back to him)

but not coming back has never really crossed Jamil’s mind as a plan, because of course he would come back. his family is here, the scalding sands is his home, and of course, Kalim is there.

because Jamil would come back to Kalim, of course he would, i mean he worries about him all the time, to the point where he has a manual for others to take care of him, and constantly acts in ways that keeps kalim depending on him too. like, the power imbalance in their dynamic is so fascinating because it’s something they both have over the other. red threads typically connect from finger to finger and that may be true for JamiKali as well but their threads? they start from the finger and crawl upwards wrapping around the others throat and back again. the thread will stretch but never snap or go completely taut. these fools will always gravitate right back, they are so messily enmeshed, inextricably intertwined, and they’re cool with that too, at the point of this fic’s starting.

but! jamil is off exploring the world and having destructive relationships, but Kalim, Kalim is maturing and growing up. he’s confident and a little more independent (because he has to be. because jamil isn’t there. he misses him deeply and he aches all the time.) but he’s still the same Kalim. he’s still cheerful and kind and social. he still calls everyone friend, even people he’s just met.

but he’s still the same Kalim, so even tho he calls a lot of people friend, even tho he has a lot of friends, he still doesn’t trust a whole bunch of people—the list is short and Jamil is still at the top of that list. because Jamil is such an essential part of his being, his childhood and his entire basis of framing relationships stem from his bond with Jamil that no other relationship for him can compare

(and same for Jamil btw abt Kalim. no one else will let jamil be as free as he is while still pulling off his little evil schemes and standing by him still)

but yeah, Kalim grows. And Jamil grows, though his growing is a little different. And then Jamil comes back. and Kalim is just!!! he’s soaring!!! he’s so confident now about Jamil, because Jamil came back!! so he pursues Jamil with confidence, with the same utmost devotion that he’s always showered Jamil with, and yeah, Jamil hides his face in his hood, as he always does when he’s flustered, and yeah. the reaction delights Kalim to no end. and Kalim isnt quiet about his affection either—he’s loud and proud, and of course people notice. and people start talking.

but they get together. they’re serious because they couldn’t ever be anything else. people don’t stop talking. kalim weathers more plots by his siblings and their mothers, and jamil is always there. helpin behind the scenes.

and people look at kalim and then look at jamil, and then think, damn. that viper is a lucky opportunistic guy isn’t he. and the al asim heir is a smitten fool in love. but he’s still a fool.

Lorenzo feels as if he's fallen in love at first sight when he enters the little coffee shop and spots you behind the counter. He puts on his best smile and leans over the counter a bit to get a little closer to you, but not too close since he doesn't want to make you uncomfortable. While Lorenzo watches you preparing the drink, he's thinking about what he'll say when he picks up the drink. He's pretty sure a lot of customers have flirted with you already, so he needs to stick out somehow. But when he picks up his drink and gets to look at you again, he's so mesmerized he completely forgets how to speak. The way he's staring at you with a bright blush makes you giggle. "You need anything else?" Lorenzo quickly regains his ability to speak after hearing your question. "You number maybe?" - "Only if you say please."

Zantetsu always gets something wrong when ordering his drink and getting so flustered while standing in front of you definitely doesn't make it easier. But you're patient with him the entire time. No matter how many times Zantetsu gets something wrong, you're happy to help him get his order right. Your sweet personality makes Zantetsu blush and while he's waiting for his drink, he can't stop thinking about you either. He already knows if he won't say anything now, he'll regret it later. So when he picks his drink up at the counter, he leans a little towards you and asks. "So... do you come here often?" His question confuses you, so you respond: "I work here." Zantetsu realizes how stupid his question was, but he tries to play it off "That means if I come here more often, I get to see you again?"

Raichi has rarely been to cafés because he never knows which drink he wants. He's either too picky or indecisive about what to get. But today, he decided to try his luck and get whatever the barista recommends to him - and that just happens to be you. You end up recommending your favourite drink which he happily accepts. "Can I have your name for that order?" You ask, to which Raichi responds with "I could give you my number." It catches you a little off guard, but at the same time, you're a little impressed. Still, you don't want to give in to his little flirt right now because you're at work. "I need to write your name on the cup, you know that?" Raichi sighs and tells you his name, then waits for you to finish his order. He only notices it when he's outside already, but you wrote your number on the receipt.

The moment Tokimitsu put his eyes on you for the first time, he immediately got flustered. He stutters so much while ordering his coffee and even messes up a part of his order, but is too shy to mention that when he realizes it. He figures he'll just have to deal with that. Tokimitsu adores your patience and friendliness a lot. even though he knows it's your job to treat customers nicely, he gets the impression that you're not only so sweet because you have to be, but also because you genuinely want to treat everyone with kindness. When he picks up his drink, Tokimitsu looks into your eyes for solid five seconds while trying to figure out if he should say anything. But then, he gets embarrassed and quickly thanks you before he leaves. Although, this definitely won't be your last encounter with Tokimitsu - and maybe someday, he manages to talk to you properly.

Shidou is a regular customer at your café so you've had your fair share of interactions with him. And because it's Shidou, those interactions have always included a lot of flirting. He's had a crush on you ever since his first visit to the café, so he's been trying to win your heart ever since. Today, he enters the café with his confidence even higher than usual. Instead of saying his order when he steps in front of the counter, he looks you straight in the eyes with a grin on his face and says: "Can you pass the coffee and sugar? Because I think you just made me cream in my pants." You're trying to hold back your laughter but quickly fail at that. "That was the worst pickup line you've ever said." Shidou crosses his arms and acts offended. "Come on! It was a good one." - "No, it really wasn't."

TO BEGIN WITH, Lemniscus is one of the planets in this universe with Ribbaniuns the living beings in it! The population of Lemniscus consist the various anthropomorphic animals.

And thats where we begin sharing the story and contents of these characters by the name LEMNISCUS! You could say Lemniscus is a series/project my friends and i worked on together!!! (We took Lemniscus bc we literally only focus on this planet... No else.)

THIS. is a good one to explain and i reallly want you guys to keep in mind with this!!!!

Yes! The Lemniscus cast does look like the characters from Sonic the hedgehog because they do take the design and traits inspiration from them! BUT! The personality, backstories, interractions, lores, all of those... We worked and develop on it ourselves!!! (Theres similiarities still, but its only SLIGHT!!! Theres some differences when compared)

Thats why this is NOT counted as Sonic au, instead, its their own universe and story! The Lemniscus cast are original characters/ocs based on existing character that later we develop so they wont look EXACTLY like the existing char they took inspiration of!

I could say that this universe's origins of making is basically 'based on Sonic'. Throughout time, there are improvisasion little by little as we worked on building chars and stories, making it their own thing :D!! So, again, Lemniscus and Sonic are two different thing... I appreciate yall's understanding. I dont want any miscommunication between Lemniscus and Sonic franchise! <"3

the last part of the chapter was interesting 2 me though, since it was shuichi’s pov, but he was thinking about “white, white, white” so how long was he in the white room to think about that??? (＞人＜;)

four chose his name cus like. the four card assignment things. club spades hearts and whatever the other one is i forgot ;w; that's my reasoning behind his name though. Ace got that name because i like him. jester is doing one of the Kokichi Poses so i went wirh gut feeling. i dont have an explanation for the others and i know Nothing about chess aside from that one google search i did for m5 so :') ... sorry d.i.c.e

kokichi's name would be "king" btw. i love these little rapscallians. i sure hope nothing bad happens to them

also! I realize I didnt explain that well in the chapter and I apologize. Shuichi didnt spend any time in the white room. In fact, the room he was in was very dark. The only light was on the stage. Sorry if I didn't make that clear, but it was hard to explain background details when even the character i was writing through didn't know where he was ｡ﾟ(ﾟ´Д｀ﾟ)ﾟ｡

this is a layout of the room i made in 2 minutes on my phone. That little circle on stage is the prop thing that was holding him up. Think of it like a craft room :p just a place to create stuff. which entails nothing good considering it's the cruel one's room @_@;....

anyways Shuichi really only spent like.. three hours in there. A lot more, if you count the time he spent asleep. I originally had him set up like that because I wanted to blast him with the Gender Dysphoria beam by putting him in a more. this outfit.

but i decided against it for the Kokichi confusion mix-up and the minor identity loss. the whole reason i added the trans shuichi tag, the point of propping him up like that and i. didnt do it. Q_Q i literally call the cruel one "doll whumper" in my notes Because they TREAT PEOPLE like DOLLS. TOYS!! That's the WHOLE POINT of their character and i didn't do it. :"> i still like the design though it came from an rp i do with a friend and he let me include it in HGH if i wanted but. y'know.

what was i talking about Oh yeah ok so. he didn't spend any time in Kokichi's white room. But he still did Kokichi's signature triple-word repitition. Why?

Well for one it's mostly just. a narrative thing. drawing parallels or whatever. But also, Shuichi is making an active effort to Not think about what happened to him. He's focusing on what's happening to Kokichi. I tend to have a specific way of writing Shuichi in situations like this, and if we learned anything from Love Letter... You might be able to guess.

I dont want to say too much on the matter since I'm still writing it and dont want to make any false promises, but from the way it's going right now? Oh Boy.
